I am happy. Oh yes, I am very happy. After so many years using a PC, for the first time I am really happy with my operating system. I am using a Debian/Gnome desktop in the form of the excellent Ubuntu 6.10 distribution. Did I say that I love gnome? I love the simplicity, the elegance and the user friendliness of the system. And the latest versions are quite zappy too: It boots fast, shuts down fast, applications run fast.

The tango theme is beautiful, so is ClearLooks. And let me tell you about AIGLX and Beryl. These things seriously rock! Have a look at these videos:
